Controls Engineer

$110,000 - 130,000

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of PLC programming from scratch within an industrial environment
• Experience with VFDs, motor controls, industrial networks, and automation systems
• Kuka, Fanuc, or ABB robotics experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary resource for PLCs, automation systems, robotics, and electrical controls, supporting existing equipment and driving future automation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot, modify, and optimize PLC programs using Parker, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley platforms to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Support and maintain robotic systems, automation equipment, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, and Modbus).
• Lead and support equipment upgrades, system startups, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and reliability.
• Partner with maintenance and operations teams to perform root cause analysis, improve equipment reliability, support preventative maintenance programs, and maintain CMMS documentation.
• Create and update electrical drawings, control schematics, and system documentation using AutoCAD while ensuring controls systems meet operational and safety standards.
