ParkerBeth Search Partners is recruiting a Safety Director for a long-established Southern California contractor specializing in HOA, multifamily, commercial painting, and reconstruction.

This is a field-focused leadership role responsible for company-wide safety, compliance, and risk management. You'll lead safety initiatives across multiple active jobsites while partnering directly with executive leadership.

A major upcoming project includes an 18-tower high-rise renovation in Los Angeles involving lead-based paint, asbestos, elevated work, and suspended access, making this a high-impact opportunity for an experienced construction safety leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve company-wide safety programs and policies
• Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, and CDPH regulations
• Conduct jobsite inspections and implement corrective actions
• Manage IIPP, respiratory protection, heat illness, fall protection, hazard communication, lead, asbestos, and silica programs
• Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and project-specific safety plans
• Oversee scaffolding, swing stages, aerial lifts, and elevated work
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Coordinate industrial hygienists, environmental consultants, and regulatory compliance
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and new-hire orientations
• Track certifications, fit testing, training, and safety metrics

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive construction safety experience
• 3+ years in a safety leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, and CDPH regulations
• Experience with lead, asbestos, respiratory protection, fall protection, and elevated work
• Current EPA RRP Certified Renovator certification
• Current CDPH Lead-Related Construction Supervisor certification
• Current AHERA Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor training
• Painting, reconstruction, restoration, or occupied multifamily experience preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
