We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to be a part of our fast-paced and busy dental office! In this role you will be providing comprehensive dental hygiene services that promote optimal oral health. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for.

Hours: Wednesday-Saturday from 8am-6pm

Duties: Assisted Hygiene

• Perform thorough assisted hygiene dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and flossing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains on adults and children.
• Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, SDF and conduct periodontal maintenance.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications to tailor treatment plans effectively.
• Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort as needed.
• Take X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards and take intraoral scans and photos if needed.
• Conduct periodontal charting and record clinical findings.
• Sterilizing instruments and keeping track of supplies you need
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in Dentrix.
• Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to uphold a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.
• Explain recommended treatment and answer patient questions.
• Schedule hygiene patient for next appointment and work closely with front staff for treatment planning and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification in dental hygiene practices.
• Proficiency with Dentrix
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess individual needs compassionately and professionally.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical records management for comprehensive patient assessment.
• Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently, and maintain efficient patient flow by staying on time with appointments.
• Needs to know how to manage cancellations and help fill the schedule when needed.
