Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Med-Surg/Telemetry License: Oregon RN license is not required at time of submission; pending license accepted Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience in reading telemetry strips Ability to interpret dysrhythmias Ability to manage dysrhythmias Knowledge of oxygen protocols Experience in non-invasive airway management Competency in peripheral line care and management Adherence to isolation precautions and PPE Experience with rapid response team activation Familiarity with computerized documentation Ability to work with patient ratios of 1:4-6 Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting. The nurse will care for a patient population that spans from Med-Surg to intermediate level of care. Patients may require cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and other specialized treatments. The nurse must demonstrate skills in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Knowledge and adherence to protocols for oxygen administration are essential. The nurse will be expected to participate in rapid response teams as necessary. Documentation will be completed using a computerized charting system. The position requires the nurse to provide care with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-6. The nurse should be willing to float to other units if required. Weekend shifts are required every other week.
