Job Summary Working under the direction of the Research Manager, Division Chief, and faculty of the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics, the Research Assistant is responsible for the daily organization, coordination, and conduct of activities related to studies of the safe and effective use of medications in a variety of contexts. The majority of research in the division is neither clinical nor bench science, and is conducted in an office setting. Please see division website for more information on faculty and research topics: Qualifications Responsibilities: The Research Assistant II will take a more independent and active role in selected projects. They will collaborate closely with the principal investigator and provide guidance to their junior colleagues. The RA II will focus on adopting and improving new skills like application of statistical software for data analysis, project management, scientific writing and presentation. Training and providing support to new staff members (joining the Division in Research Assistant I capacity) becomes an important responsibility of a Research Assistant II. Education Bachelor's Degree Science required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience BA/BS required. Completion of at least 1 year in a Research Assistant I capacity (or equivalent) is required. Ability to manage multiple priorities and leadership skills are a must. Competency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint is required; familiarity with MS Access preferred. Prior social science or medical research experience is preferred, and epidemiology and/or biostatistics exposure is a plus. A strong applicant will display the ability to communicate with multiple levels of staff and work effectively with others in a team environment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Good interpersonal and communication skills. - Careful attention to detail. - Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. - Intermediate computer literacy including database tools. - Knowledge of data management programs. - Ability to follow directions and exhibit professionalism, and work more independently.
