WAREHOUSE MANAGER Full Time Management La Palma, CA, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1029 Salary Range: $72,384.00 To $80,000.00 Annually JOB SUMMARY: Professional, self-motivated, and quality-focused Warehouse Manager to work in a fast-paced, structured, team environment. Responsibilities include managing personnel and overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, logistics, branch fulfillment, and warranty processing. Additional duties include training staff, ensuring employee safety, conducting emergency preparedness training, enforcing OSHA best practices, and coordinating the servicing of equipment and vehicles. Must be able to perform a variety of related tasks as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ( In Addition to Warehouse Lead/Supervisor ) Manage opening and closing of warehouse Inventory organization, including receiving, stocking, order fulfillment and quality control of customer satisfaction in accordance with SOPs Supervise daily shipping and receiving functions Manage daily production and customer delivery activities services to meet deadlines Train employees in the safe operation of production equipment, machinery, tools, and work processes Manages safety, conducts and coordinates monthly meetings to ensure enforcement of OSHA, state, and local safety laws Approve safety inspections of all vehicles and equipment Perform or oversee end of day functions including but not limited to end of day warehouse queues, manifest closing, document scanning, and UPS loading Manage daily warehouse workflow to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely order fulfillment Set-up and maintain drivers’ delivery routes and production of manifest Ensures all daily branch transfers are accurate and properly processed Monitors email for stock verification requests and pick/pull error verification Obtain accurate freight quotes for customer service as needed Ensure policies promote accuracy and attention to detail ensuring transfers/shipments are picked according to picking ticket specifications Work with Inventory Clerk, Accounting and Purchasing to ensure inventory accuracy and prepare the warehouse for yearly inventory Create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support warehouse operations and ensure consistent enforcement. Performance facility inspections to ensure proper working conditions and maintenance Ensure drivers of company truck conduct inspections, review & revise SOPs and conduct training for new drivers or drivers has a near miss or driving infraction Collaborate with the Operation Manager and Human Resources to resolve any warehouse operations/personnel issues EDUCATION Minimum Education: A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field is standard Alternative Pathway: A high school diploma paired with 8+ years of advanced supervisory experience in logistics can sometimes substitute for a formal degree. Advanced Certifications (Highly Preferred): Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) via the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) via the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certifications for operational process improvement. Total Industry Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive experience working within an active warehouse, distribution center, or global procurement hub Leadership Experience: 2 to 3 years of direct supervisory or managerial experience leading teams, conducting performance reviews, and managing labor hours Sourcing & Vendor Management: Documented experience vetting external suppliers, negotiating high-value service contracts, and tracking Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Technical Experience: High proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) alongside dedicated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent sales and negotiation skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Strong time management and organizational skills Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills Possess an advanced degree or 3–4 years of comparable experience in a client- or customer service-oriented position Previous experience in a client-facing role as an Account Representative is preferred Demonstrated ability to work well with peers, make sound decisions, and respond appropriately to difficult situations Experience in an inside & outside sales environment Experience with negotiating terms, pricing, and stock for customers Experience of going directly to customers and providing sales presentations PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting / Carrying: Ability to lift or move items ranging from 10 – 20 pounds up to 50 pounds Mobility: Significant walking, standing, sitting, and driving throughout the workday, often 40-60% of the time Physical Agility: Occasional crouching, kneeling, stooping, crawling, or bending to access client sites or handle equipment Frequently utilization of fine finger dexterity for digital systems and equipment inspections Sensory Requirements: High level of verbal communication (talking/hearing) and clear close/distance vision for driving and presentations Environmental Adaptability: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments, including construction sites, warehouses, or outside DIRECT REPORTS: Warehouse associates, lead, drivers and will call This job description is intended to describe the general nature of the work employees can expect within this job classification.
