Job Description

The Environmental Services (EVS) Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This role plays a critical part in infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and overall facility operations by ensuring all assigned areas meet established cleanliness and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, operating rooms, and common areas according to hospital protocols.
• Perform routine and terminal cleaning procedures to support infection control standards.
• Empty trash, biohazard waste, and recycling bins in compliance with safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions.
• Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for hazardous materials.
• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and urgent cleaning needs.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, including safety, infection control, and HIPAA confidentiality standards.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, patients, and team members.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliability and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment.

Work Environment

Fast-paced hospital environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and infectious materials (with proper PPE). May require working evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. Environment is regulated temperature with a 1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm and rotating weekends.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mission Viejo, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Mission Viejo,CA.
