This role is responsible for bringing automated warehouse systems to life by leading commissioning, integration, and system validation efforts. You will ensure complex automation solutions are fully operational, properly integrated into customer environments, and ready for go-live.

The work involves advanced automated storage solutions including pallet shuttle systems, tote shuttle systems, autonomous mobile robots, and supporting equipment such as conveyors and lifts. End users are typically large-scale operations in industries such as consumer goods and pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead commissioning activities from preparation through go-live, including reporting and final system signoff.
• Configure, test, and validate PLC systems and control software in live environments.
• Set up and integrate full system functionality, including interfacing with warehouse control systems (WCS) and customer IT infrastructure.
• Work across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems including sensors, instrumentation, communication protocols, and safety devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning, startup, and post-installation support.
• Support service teams with technical expertise during aftersales interventions.
• Generate detailed reports, documentation, and commissioning procedures upon project completion.
• Identify system improvements and recommend optimization opportunities.
• Train integrators, maintenance teams, and end users on system operation and functionality.
• Share technical knowledge internally and contribute to ongoing training and development.
• Identify and communicate potential service or upgrade opportunities within existing customer sites.

Qualifications:

• Experience commissioning or installing automated systems, ideally within material handling, automation, or robotics environments.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and automated equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC programming, VFD configuration, and conveyor systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or Controls.
• Comfort working with programming environments, command-line tools, or system interfaces.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in field environments.

Additional Details:

• Travel is a core part of the role, averaging 50% to 75% , supporting projects across the United States with occasional travel to Canada.
• Work schedules may vary based on project needs, including occasional evenings or weekends during critical phases such as system go-live or trade shows.
• Temporary schedule flexibility may be required, including adjusted workweeks (e.g., Friday through Tuesday) depending on project demands.
• Work is performed in a variety of environments, including distribution centers, cold storage facilities, and elevated rack systems with proper safety measures in place.
• Collaboration with international teams requires alignment with earlier work hours to support cross-time-zone communication.
