Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | 3x12-Hour Night Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing the nursing process — assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; identify and measure ECG rhythm strips in a 38-bed telemetry unit with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 based on acuity
• Manage a patient population that includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMIs, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and patients downgraded from ICU)
• Administer and monitor non-titratable cardiac medication drips (e.g., Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro)
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary ancillary staff including Rapid Response Team, CCTs, ACTs, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, and Respiratory Therapists
• May float to ICUs (for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments), medical-surgical units, or a sister campus based on organizational need and competency level

Required Qualifications

• Active Nevada RN license required prior to start
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification (APEX) required
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry RN experience required; must pass a telemetry competency exam including identification and measurement of rhythm strips
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least one completed 13-week assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-procedure cardiac patients including pacemakers, ablations, and cath lab procedures
• Familiarity with ICU step-down or progressive care environments
• Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care setting comparable to a Level I trauma environment
