Responsibilities

Elwyn seeks a Program Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing daily operations of assigned units within the Children’s Residential Treatment Facility. This role provides leadership, guidance, and training to the Autism Behavior Support Specialists (ABSS), ensuring effective implementation of behavior support plans, intervention strategies, program schedules, etc. The Program Supervisor coordinates daily schedules for staff and residents, ensures accurate and timely documentation and data collection by ABSS. This position is also responsible for staffing oversight, including performance management and scheduling, and serves as on-the-floor support when needed. The Program Supervisor ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and agency policies while promoting a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for all residents.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all aspects of daily operations of assigned units within the Children’s Residential Treatment Facility.
• Create daily program plans and ensure they are sufficiently scheduled, clearly communicated, and consistently followed to support residents' needs in areas including but not limited to medical appointments, daily activities, school activities, etc.
• Maintains client’s daily schedules and communication protocols such as picture schedules, use of Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, and sign language as individualized communication methods for each child.
• Report maintenance issues to the Operations Manager to ensure timely resolution of all concerns.
• Provides supervision of assigned staff in areas including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, leadership, coaching, training, performance management, promotion, discipline, and termination.
• Ensure ABSS staff receive thorough onboarding, required certifications, and ongoing professional development aligned with evidence-based practices and agency standards.
• Participates in supervision with Operations Manager and/or Director of Operations, giving and responding to feedback to improve ABSS work performance.
• Maintains staff schedules as needed; maintains time and attendance in appropriate systems.
• Provide assistance, guidance, and training to the Autism Behavioral Support (ABSS) in crisis intervention, BSP implementation, daily client care, and daily duties and responsibilities.
• Provides backup to ABSS when needed to stay within required ratios and in order to meet the needs of the program.
• Oversee and ensure ABSS compliance with completion of routine unit chores, cleaning tasks, and organization tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Lead the response to critical incidents, including documentation, debriefing with staff, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed in accordance with agency protocols and licensing standards.
• Ensures ABSS compliance with writing of daily progress notes, collection of data for daily behavior tracking and/or for Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), and any other assessment tools deemed appropriate and administered by clinicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, BCBA, or other consultants, and that these are completed in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular reviews of ABSS documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with treatment goals, agency policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Completes all documentation in a timely and accurate manner as set forth by the regulatory agency requirements and program requirements.
• Collaborates daily/weekly with the Clinician and other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home, education, or other community settings to ensure the child’s plans are being carried out effectively.
• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) & crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols.

Qualifications & Skills
EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in counseling, psychology, social work, behavioral psychology, special education or other human service-related field

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) experience required
• Two years’ experience working directly with special needs children/adolescents, preferably clients on the autism spectrum, in the mental health or education fields
• Experience with residential service preferred
• Demonstrated experience in data collection and implementation of behavioral protocols and treatment plans preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Successful completion of Safe Crisis Management/Intervention training, CPR/ First Aid training, Behavior Management, Data Collection training and any other required trainings by the program or for specific clients’ needs
• Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
• Must have current, valid driver’s license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
