Safety Supervisor

Safety Fleet SupervisorThe Safety Fleet Supervisor is a front-line manager responsible for providing training direction and safety coaching to a fleet of long-haul drivers with the goal of reducing overall risk. Work is accomplished in tandem with Fleet Managers and other leadership on the Operations floor, collaboratively focusing on safety related items (preventable accidents, citizen complaints, hard braking events, tickets, etc.) and compliance matters regarding specific drivers.Key ResponsibilitiesDirectly influencing the safety behavior, driving performance and knowledge base of your fleetReviewing contributing factors to accidents and violations to determine focus areas for remediation, prevention and risk managementAddressing trending problem areas with timely coaching and interventionResponding to questions regarding policies, procedures, best practices, FMCSR/CSA interpretations, etc.Providing weather updates to drivers and office associatesSetting up drug and alcohol screening as necessaryRegular and ad-hoc reportingQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:In-depth working knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Highly organized and communicative - must be able to interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externallyAbility to perform in an environment with ambiguous situations, rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlinesProven record of making well-informed decisions in both routine and emergency situationsHigh degree of initiative and independent execution.
