The reporting location for this position is the Wilder Ranch State Park maintenance shop. This position will work under the direction of permanent staff and the Park Maintenance Supervisor.

Seasonal Senior Maintenance Aides shall perform various unskilled tasks necessary to ensure that public health and safety standards are maintained including: Cleaning of public use facilities including day use areas, drinking fountains, showers, restrooms, litter pick-up, emptying charcoal and wood ashes from campfire rings and BBQ grills. Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, and removing slash from landscaped and natural areas, including day use areas. Clearing organics from culverts and ditchlines. This position operates a wide variety of vehicles and equipment including a 1-ton truck, ¾ and ½ ton trucks, blowers, weed whackers and other small engines. May assist with chainsaw and chipping operation. This position may perform unskilled tasks associated with facility maintenance such as: carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, masonry, roofing and other projects in various facilities. This position is to adhere to Safety Guidelines including participation in: bi-weekly safety meetings, Injury Illness and Prevention program, Task Hazard Analysis and a general culture of safety. Seasonal Senior Maintenance Aids will interact with the public and are expected to direct the public to roads, trails, bathrooms and visitors' services for questions related to the park.


This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions
The incumbents working hours are from 7am-330pm and require weekend or holiday coverage depending on program needs and conform to grooming and uniform standards.

Typical work activities may involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking.

May have moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.

May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing or pulling.
