Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Monticello, IN. This position is responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Daily tasks include reconciling accounts, monitoring cash flow, preparing financial statements and management reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The Senior Accountant will oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, assist with cost accounting related to production, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The role also involves supporting audits, analyzing financial data to provide insights to leadership, and collaborating with operations and management to improve financial efficiency and reporting. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; reconcile accounts; support close processes. General Ledger Management - Maintain GL accuracy, post journal entries, and ensure proper coding aligned with company policy. Cost Accounting - Track production costs, analyze variances, and support inventory valuation for polymer manufacturing workflows. Accounts Payable & Receivable - Process invoices, monitor aging, ensure timely collections, and maintain vendor compliance. Budget Support - Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting cycles, and departmental spend analysis. Audit & Compliance - Support internal and external audits; maintain documentation; ensure adherence to GAAP and company policies. Process Improvement - Identify efficiency opportunities, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with operations, procurement, HR, and leadership to ensure financial clarity and support decision-making. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or production environments. Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting principles. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. Ability to analyze complex data, communicate clearly, and maintain accuracy under deadlines. Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to high-quality financial work. Preferred Qualifications Experience in polymer, chemical, or industrial manufacturing environments. Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and production workflows. Familiarity with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams.
