Senior Data Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performance engineering team building and operating large-scale data infrastructure that powers real-time decision making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges, working with modern big data technologies, and building highly reliable, scalable platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain large-scale data platforms using technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, Dremio, and related tools. Develop, deploy, and support high-performance data processing pipelines using Java, Python, Spark, Flink, and similar technologies. Partner with software engineering teams on data architecture, ingestion strategies, schema design, and capacity planning. Ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of critical datasets across the organization. Serve as a subject matter expert for data engineering and provide technical guidance on architecture, performance, and operational best practices. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production data platforms to ensure maximum performance and uptime. Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in a modern data engineering environment. 3+ years of hands‑on experience building Kafka streaming applications and/or administering Kafka clusters. 2+ years working with large-scale data storage and processing technologies such as S3, HDFS, Databricks, Iceberg, or similar platforms. Experience building distributed data pipelines using Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or comparable frameworks. Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and SQL. Familiarity with Python-based data science and analytics libraries. Experience deploying and operating applications with Kubernetes and Docker. Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Alerta, or OpsGenie. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis in complex production environments. Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments with Bash and Python scripting.
