US Scientific Communications Senior Director

AstraZeneca seeks a Senior Director for US Scientific Communications to drive strategic vision and operational excellence across the function. The role involves building high-performing teams, defining medical content strategy, and ensuring scientific communications deliver measurable impact aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Set long-term vision and transformation agenda for US Scientific Communications function
- Define US medical content strategy and optimize global-to-local process for quality and impact
- Establish standards and KPIs for content excellence, compliance, and measurable performance
- Lead enterprise partnerships with US Medical, Commercial, and Global Scientific Communications teams
- Build and mentor high-performing SciComms team while managing budgets and vendor relationships
Requirements
- Advanced degree in scientific discipline or health sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD)
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/scientific communications experience with enterprise leadership
- Proven management of Medical Information, content development, or promotional review teams
- Strong knowledge of drug information, medical communications, and applicable regulations
- Experience developing new services and programs
- Cross-functional collaboration and project management skills with budget oversight
- Strategic planning experience and patient-centric mindset
Compensation: $197,390.40 - $296,085.60 USD annual
