Materials Planner

Job Overview Position: Materials Planner Responsibilities Monitor and interpret MRP outputs to schedule, release, and maintain manufacturing orders. Initiate shop orders to obtain material as per schedule and evaluate alternate methods with optimal cost and availability. Utilize system to project requirements, analyze stock, units on order, future requirements, and other production‑related data; make recommendations. Maintain just‑in‑time inventory and resolve material issues while meeting inventory metrics. Collaborate with other departments to determine material disposition and expedite flow of materials. Work with engineering for material substitutions as required. Partner with scheduling, engineering, and manufacturing to coordinate or change delivery schedules. Review overdue manufacturing orders, determine cause of delay, and initiate corrective action. Assist in coaching less experienced team members. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school degree required; college degree preferred. Experience: Understanding of manufacturing processes and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components; working knowledge of Infor XA. Skills and Abilities: Ability to prioritize and adapt to daily business changes; proficiency in arithmetic calculations; ability to read somewhat complex blueprints; interpret instructions; strong planning and scheduling skills; knowledge of Infor XA, MS Office, and general computer skills; effective communication and negotiation with stakeholders; thrive in a fast‑paced, continuously changing environment.
