Job Description We, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, exist to serve all people with respect, fairness, and sensitivity. The Callaway County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a full-time Detention Officer position. The starting salary for this position is$44,000 annually, or $21.15 per hour and comes with a full benefits package, including free health insurance, two retirement programs, life insurance policy, vacation/sick/holiday pay, and more. The Callaway County Sheriff's Office and Jail are both located at 1201 State Road O, Fulton, MO 65251. The Callaway County Jail is a 24/6 operation that houses inmates who are arrested in Callaway County. The Jail has two shifts: 7:00am - 7:00pm & 7:00pm - 7:00am. Maintains an awareness and understanding of the Jail’s requirements, laws, rules, processes, and procedures in order to sustain a safe environment for staff and inmates. Reviews inmate records and takes report from outgoing shift. Books and releases inmates as appropriate, assuring that all necessary paperwork requirements, laws, processes, and procedures are followed. Shackles and escorts inmates to and from court. Requirements Applicant must be at least 19 years of age. Applicant must possess high school diploma. Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Applicant must pass a pre-employment criminal background screening. Applicant must pass pre-employment written, typing, and polygraph tests.
