Lead Network Engineer, Public Sector

Salary: $114,082 - 152,109 per year Requirements:

• We need an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to be considered for a polygraph; candidates will undergo a background investigation.
• We are seeking someone with 7+ years of experience supporting Juniper platforms, including MX, QFX, and next-generation SRX devices.
• We value deep expertise in routing technologies such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS, including complex policy design and implementation.
• We require hands-on experience with security and tunneling solutions such as MACsec, IPsec, GRE, firewall zoning, and policy controls.
• We expect strong proficiency with 10G, 40G, and 100G fiber interfaces, including transceiver, optical power, and port troubleshooting.
• We look for advanced knowledge of the JUNOS CLI and familiarity with automation or scripting tools such as Ansible and Junos PyEZ.
• We want experience with network monitoring and management platforms, including SNMP, syslog, NetFlow, and centralized logging systems.
• We need someone who can work collaboratively, operate independently with minimal oversight, and support after-hours outages and maintenance.
• We require excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Juniper certification such as JNCIS-SEC or higher is preferred.

• We install, configure, and maintain Juniper network equipment, including MX, QFX, and SRX security platforms.
• We set up and support SRX security functions such as zone-based policies, firewall filters, IPsec/SSL VPNs, tunneled connections, and MACsec encryption.
• We implement and troubleshoot advanced routing technologies, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and LDP.
• We support high-speed optical infrastructure, including 10G, 40G, and 100G interfaces, along with LACP and transceiver diagnostics.
• We manage network availability, performance, and protection through CoS/QoS, policy-based routing, and traffic shaping.
• We design and maintain secure VPN tunnels and transport links across data centers, cloud environments, and remote locations.
• We keep network records current, including configurations, IP address management, and topology documentation.
• We work directly with customers to assess requests and carry out needed configuration changes.
• We help resolve complex production and interoperability issues by partnering with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• We may lead technical initiatives or provide subject matter expertise and leadership to the team and customer.
