Production Associate (Days) Job

Primary location: Johnstown, Ohio Employment status: Full-Time Estimated base salary range: $18 - $24 an hour. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors. Primary Duty: Manufacture, assemble, and package products to meet customer demand while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role is structured in progressive levels, with increasing expectations for independence, technical skill, problem solving, and operational contribution. General Duties Maintain a clean and safe working environment while following all safety rules, standard work, and plant regulations to prevent injury or damage to materials and equipment. Perform various production-related tasks such as machine operation and support, assembly and packaging of finished goods, material handling and job flow execution, crating and staging product for shipment, inventory counting, documentation, and assisting team members. Working Responsibilities Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures; use required PPE; progress from following safety expectations to modeling and reinforcing them. Quality & Production: Assemble materials and package finished products; perform visual inspections; identify defects and take appropriate action; progress from basic defect recognition to anticipating and preventing quality issues. Standard Work & Execution: Follow posted work instructions and SOPs; perform tasks with increasing independence; Level 1 requires guidance and verification, Level 2 works independently under normal conditions, Level 3 executes complex tasks and optimizes workflows. Material Flow & Workstation Readiness: Move materials through production; maintain organized, efficient workstations; ensure readiness of tools, materials, equipment; recommend improvements at higher levels. Documentation & Systems: Accurately track production, time, and job data; complete production documentation; support training others on systems accuracy. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Identify and report abnormal conditions; troubleshoot within scope; find root causes and implement improvements. Team Contribution: Collaborate with teammates and leadership; accept feedback; demonstrate continuous learning; act as resource and support development of others. Qualifications Prior manufacturing, assembly or production experience preferred. Ability to learn equipment operation and production processes. Forklift certification may be required for certain roles. Work Environment Plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing conditions. Proper PPE required (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel/composite toe footwear). Physical Demands Frequent standing and walking. Regular use of hands and arms. Lifting up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally. Bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching as required.
