Bereavement Counselor

Our spectrum of home-based services now includes Skilled Home Health Care, Palliative Care, Adult Hospice Care and Pediatric Care. Our team approach strives to address practical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of care, with the goal to maximize quality of life for our patients, caregivers and families. We are seeking an Associate Bereavement Counselor/Intern (post grad) for our Grief Counseling program . The Associate Bereavement Counselor/Intern works under supervision of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and provides individual and group counseling services to patients/families to address their emotional needs related to the impact of a terminal illness, loss, and grief. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday & Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm with some evening shifts Location: Larkspur, CA office; 1 day remote option By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel. Associate Bereavement Counselors provide individual, family, group, and school-basedGrief Counseling to bereaved Hospice families and members of the community. Associate Bereavement Counselors receive: Weekly individual and group supervision meeting requirements of the BBS. A wide range of applicable educational in-services and learning opportunities. An hourly stipend and benefits Extensive training in clinical documentation in an electronic medical record. Development of Associate Bereavement Counselor's theoretical orientation in a supportive environment. Professional counseling experience in a fast-paced medical agency Hold a master’sdegree from an accredited master’s degreeProgram in Counseling Psychology or Social Work. Appropriate registration with the BBS required. 1+ years of experience conducting on-going counseling preferred (virtually or in-person). Be knowledgeable about Loss and Grief Counseling techniques. Be able to commit to 24 hrs./week, including one evening per week, (on an intermittentbasis), for a minimum of 18 months as well astravel to satellite sites, as needed. Have availability which includes Wednesdays and either Mon. or Fri.’s. & the 1st Wednesday of each month. Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications. Experience with documentation in an electronic medical record preferred. Candidates bi-lingual in Mandarin are encouraged to apply.
