Business Intelligence (BI) Developer I - QUICKSIGHT

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer I - QUICKSIGHT based in United States.

This remote role offers the opportunity to build business intelligence solutions that support healthcare quality improvement initiatives at a national scale.
You’ll specialize in Amazon QuickSight, creating dashboards that transform complex healthcare and operational data into clear, actionable insights.
Working within a secure CMS environment, you’ll contribute to analytics involving claims, clinical, facility, demographic, survey, and quality-improvement data.
You’ll collaborate with analysts, data scientists, project leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to translate requirements into effective visualization solutions.
The role covers the full dashboard lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development through validation, user acceptance testing, deployment, documentation, and support.
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to Tableau-based visualization initiatives and proof-of-concept solutions.

Accountabilities

• Serve as a key contributor within a data science and advanced analytics environment supporting healthcare quality improvement initiatives.

• Partner with stakeholders and internal teams to gather, clarify, document, and refine dashboard requirements.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain Amazon QuickSight analyses, datasets, reports, and multi-level dashboards within a secure CMS environment.

• Build intuitive dashboard experiences using navigation, drill-downs, filters, parameters, calculated fields, and role-appropriate views.

• Apply data validation and quality-control processes to ensure measures, calculations, labels, and visualizations accurately reflect approved specifications.

• Maintain dashboard version documentation and support controlled promotion of changes in accordance with applicable security and development processes.

• Develop Tableau dashboards and visualizations for additional analytics initiatives when required.

• Design proof-of-concept solutions and advanced BI visualizations using effective data visualization and usability practices.

• Use approved data sources and reporting tools to validate dashboard measures, investigate data-quality issues, and support ad hoc analysis.

• Create and maintain dashboard documentation, data definitions, user guidance, presentations, and other project materials.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting related to dashboards, data, access, and functionality.

• Coordinate technical User Acceptance Testing, document findings, resolve defects, and support production readiness.

• Manage assigned dashboard-development activities and deliver high-quality work in line with project schedules, contractual requirements, security expectations, and milestones.

• Communicate technical and analytical concepts clearly through documentation, demonstrations, and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a quantitative discipline.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining visualization solutions in Amazon QuickSight.

• Demonstrated practical expertise with QuickSight analyses, dashboards, calculated fields, filters, parameters, and interactive visualizations.

• Familiarity with Tableau dashboard development is required; hands-on Tableau development experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements through user interviews.

• Experience with Databricks is preferred.

• Experience working with healthcare, Medicare, claims, quality-improvement, or other regulated data is preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and analytical topics to varied audiences.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating effectively with several teams.

• Ability to work within secure, regulated data environments and follow strict privacy, security, and access-control requirements.

• Successful completion and ongoing maintenance of applicable CMS vetting, identity verification, background investigation, security, privacy, training, and access-authorization requirements.
