Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Full Time

An exciting permanent opportunity has opened for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist (also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) with an area healthcare client where you'll use your expertise to operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce high quality images that are used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions. This role provides mobile ultrasound services primarily in nursing homes, home care facilities, correctional and processing sites throughout the service region. Candidates will be provided a company vehicle.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current national certification in specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). ARDMS or CCI registration for vascular ultrasound is required.
• Certifications required: ARDMS or CCI for vascular ultrasound. General and vascular modalities required. Echocardiography (ECHO) experience is a plus.
• Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program.
• Maintain required certifications, registries, health requirements, and operational requirements. Must be prepared to provide copies of registries and diploma when requested.
• Valid driver's license required. Must maintain and produce license on demand. Candidates should expect periodic driver's license checks.
• Vaccination against COVID-19 is required or documentation supporting an approved exemption must be submitted.
• Basic smartphone and computer skills required, including scanning and emailing documents.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Maintain compliance with criminal background reporting requirements while employed.
• Ability to lift and move equipment bag (approximately 18-20 lbs) and to handle wheeled cart for distances up to 250 feet.
• BLS Certification required.
• One year of sonography experience preferred. Experience performing mobile or point-of-care studies, working in long-term care or home health settings, or servicing multiple facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities and Job Details:

• Provide mobile ultrasound services and perform diagnostic sonographic exams using portable equipment. Obtain clinically diagnostic and technically competent images for radiologist interpretation.
• Self-dispatch or call dispatch to obtain caseload. Arrive at first case at start of shift or leave home 30 minutes prior to first appointment.
• Confirm all physician orders against facility chart prior to performing exams. Verify patient identity with two identifiers. Document nurse identifier when patient cannot self-identify.
• Transport equipment into facilities, perform exams, and digitally send studies to radiologist for interpretation.
• Check client facility voicemail and self-dispatch system per protocol. Respond to urgent communications within 15 minutes.
• Follow company dress code, wear company uniform and name tag, and carry company-provided phone while on duty.
• Scan exam paperwork and billing daily per protocol. Maintain equipment and vehicle. Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Attend required meetings, infection control in-service, and maintain annual medical and TB screening documentation.
• Work independently with minimal supervision. Train other technologists as required.
• Adhere to professional and ethical standards, drug-free workplace policy, and associate handbook conduct requirements.

Shift:

• Days. Typical hours approximately 0800-1700. Weekend work may be required based on caseload and will constitute overtime when applicable.
