Overview Position Details: Part-Time Instructor, Academic Foundations, Fall 2026 at Rutgers University-Newark. Department: Academic Foundations Center. Posting Summary: The Academic Foundations Center, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), is seeking part-time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for Fall 2026 to teach College Algebra Support, and/or Service Learning courses. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including preparing course material, creating and posting a course syllabus, presenting material during assigned course times, holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students, responding to student e-mails, conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means in a timely manner, and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these, based on the academic needs of the department. Responsibilities Prepare course material and create a course syllabus. Present course material during assigned times and hold office hours for students. Respond to student e-mails and provide timely feedback on assessments. Conduct and grade assignments, exams, and other assessments; submit final grades. Deliver instruction in multiple formats (in-person, online, hybrid, remote) as required by the department. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Master\'s degree with two to three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of course content. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required; demonstrated ability to teach at the university level is highly desired.
