Position Summary

This is a hybrid role. We are seeking an experienced Wireless Network Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a federal government program focused on the modernization, replacement, and sustainment of enterprise wireless network infrastructure and services. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in wireless networking technologies, support system lifecycle management activities, and assist with the implementation, integration, and maintenance of mission-critical communications systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise wireless environments, infrastructure refresh initiatives, network operations, and technology upgrades. This role requires collaboration with government personnel, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient wireless communications capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and subject matter expertise for enterprise wireless networking environments and related infrastructure.
• Evaluate existing wireless environments and recommend improvements to performance, reliability, availability, and security.
• Support wireless network assessments, system upgrades, migration activities, and operational transition efforts.
• Perform technical analysis of network systems, applications, and operational environments.
• Apply IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL best practices to support service delivery and operational effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation plans, and status reports.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex wireless networking and infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, program management teams, and government stakeholders to support mission objectives.
• Identify operational risks and assist with the development of mitigation strategies.
• Stay current on emerging wireless technologies and industry best practices.

Clearance Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years of professional experience supporting wireless networking, telecommunications, information technology, or related technical disciplines.
• ITIL v3 Master Qualification certification
• Experience supporting enterprise wireless networks, infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, or system replacement projects.
• Strong understanding of wireless networking technologies, RF fundamentals, WLAN architectures, and network infrastructure.
• Experience supporting system implementation, operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities.
• Familiarity with ITSM and ITIL practices.
• Possession of at least one current DoD 8570/8140-recognized cybersecurity certification, including but not limited to Security+, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, CISSP, CASP+, CISA, CISM, CCNP Security, Network+, A+, or equivalent.
• Ability to analyze technical issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civilian, or Intelligence Community (IC) customers.
• Experience with enterprise wireless platforms such as Cisco, Aruba, Juniper Mist, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience supporting wireless modernization, network migrations, or infrastructure refresh initiatives.
