Actuarial Analyst, P&C Pricing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Actuarial Analyst, P&C Pricing based in United States. This entry-level actuarial role supports pricing, portfolio management, and regulatory activities across multiple Property & Casualty insurance products. You’ll use actuarial analysis, data, and modeling techniques to evaluate profitability and inform pricing decisions. The role offers hands-on exposure to pricing tools, portfolio performance, rate filings, and business recommendations. You’ll collaborate closely with underwriting, claims, and other business teams to turn complex analysis into actionable insights. The position is well suited to someone building their actuarial career while developing knowledge of insurance operations and methodologies. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, curiosity, and sound judgment are highly valued. The role also provides opportunities to strengthen technical skills across modern analytics, data, and visualization tools. Accountabilities - Support the development, testing, maintenance, and documentation of pricing tools used to support accurate and effective insurance pricing. - Conduct portfolio analyses covering composition, premium, retention, losses, and profitability across products and lines of business. - Compile rate, retention, and performance metrics and translate findings into clear, data-driven insights for business partners and management. - Assist with rating manuals, rate filings, and supporting actuarial documentation for applicable lines of business. - Apply actuarial tools, data, and modeling software to pricing, valuation, and risk-management analyses. - Partner with underwriting and claims teams to discuss profitability, portfolio performance, and business strategy. - Support analyses and recommendations related to pricing and portfolio management strategies.

- Research industry developments and evaluate their potential impact on pricing processes and portfolio performance. - Build knowledge of insurance products, company operations, systems, and actuarial methodologies. - Manage assigned projects accurately and within deadlines while maintaining strong documentation, attention to detail, and professional judgment. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, data science, finance, or another quantitative discipline. - Commitment to pursuing the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation; progress toward actuarial examinations is preferred. - At least 2 years of relevant professional, internship, academic, or analytical experience. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities with a high level of attention to detail. - Ability to communicate analytical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing. - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently with appropriate direction, and collaborate across teams. - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Experience or coursework involving Property & Casualty insurance, actuarial science, pricing, underwriting, claims, or insurance operations is preferred. - Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Power BI, or comparable analytical and data-visualization tools is a plus. - Familiarity with current insurance trends and P&C insurance operations is advantageous. - Intellectual curiosity, creativity, structured problem-solving, and a continuous-improvement mindset. - Flexibility, professional judgment, and the ability to perform effectively in a changing, fast-paced environment.
