Senior Network & Security Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• We expect 7+ years of relevant experience, with advanced knowledge of computer networks and communications systems, or comparable hands-on experience supporting laptops, desktops, printers, and network devices in a Windows environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• We need strong organizational, follow-up, and communication abilities.
• We require the ability to analyze and interpret business publications, technical documentation, and regulatory materials.
• We expect you to prepare reports and business correspondence clearly and accurately.
• You must be able to present information effectively and respond to employee questions.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

• We support end-user computing operations, including helpdesk functions, hardware and software support, ticket management, network infrastructure, and security administration.
• We lead and participate in strategic initiatives such as upgrades, deployments, and broad system changes, while also driving smaller projects through to completion.
• We manage patching, device security, encryption, multi-factor authentication, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security incident response activities.
• We stay informed on emerging technologies and assess their impact on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
• We coordinate external security penetration tests and help deliver security awareness and training programs across the organization.
• We research and recommend technologies that strengthen data, infrastructure, and network protection.
• We coach the IT team on continuous improvement and best practices, and we plan, budget, and organize technology refresh and replacement roadmaps.
• We oversee local and cloud backups, maintain backup policies, and execute annual disaster recovery plans.
• We manage software licensing controls and help ensure only approved, legally obtained software is installed and used.
• We administer servers, VMware virtual machines, Windows server systems, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy, and software deployments.
• We monitor server performance, apply updates and security patches, manage storage and backups, and maintain server backup logs.
• We configure and support network appliances such as firewalls, switches, and routers, as well as business applications and email security tools.
• We handle user account administration, including account creation, password resets, and lock or unlock requests.
• We follow ITIL processes for requests, incidents, changes, and problems, and we manage helpdesk tickets to meet service-level expectations.
• We oversee site internet and telecom services, including telephone systems, voice and data links, call recording, and call accounting/reporting.
• We coordinate maintenance, repairs, and approved telecom adds, moves, and changes, and we ensure IT supplies and equipment are available to support operations.
