Join Our Team as a Psychiatrist

We are looking for a Board-certified child and adolescent Psychiatrist to handle inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. This role is an on-site position only, as specified by the North Carolina Medicaid service definition.
Qualifications
Education AND Experience
M.D. degree.
Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist.
Must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform psychiatric admission assessments for new clients admitted to the program within one week of admission to the program.
Provide subsequent psychiatric rounds weekly to clients served.
Provide on-call coverage to program participants as needed, including medication and restrictive intervention orders, and consultation with staff during client crises.
Assist in maximizing billing for services provided
Exercise professional judgment in all matters involving the professional relationships and follow the standards of professional care, conduct, and responsibility applicable to rendering of professional services
Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, etc.
Maintain open lines of communication with other departments
Attends training sessions as required for position and to maintain license/certification requirements
Explains procedures and treatments to clients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension through awareness of comfort and safety needs of client
Observes client, records significant conditions and reactions, and relays information regarding patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol, including taking vital signs
Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the client, as prescribed by centers policy including patient and family instruction
