Dover, Sherborn and Dover Sherborn School Districts Pine Hill Elementary School - Sherborn, Massachusetts Adjustment Counselor Job ID: 5806010 Application Deadline: Jul 13, 2026 11:59 PM (UTC) Posted: Jun 29, 2026 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Aug 31, 2026 Job Description The Sherborn Public School seeks an experienced, creative, skilled, and dynamic Adjustment Counselor to support PreK-Grade 5 students with social/emotional/behavioral challenges for the 2026-2027 school year. The counselor will provide individual and small-group counseling and skills-based instruction to students. In addition, the counselor will consult and collaborate with staff, teachers, administrators, caregivers, and outside support professionals to support the success of students and the development of individualized programming. The counselor will work collaboratively with district counselors and psychologists to enhance mental health support and services district-wide. A successful candidate will have a Master's degree and at least 1-3 years of experience working in a school setting. Effective strategies for engaging and empowering students, cultural proficiency and responsiveness, and differentiating learning are essential. Additional responsibilities include communication with families, participation in faculty and grade-level team meetings, and developing SEL curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Additional Requirements Must hold a valid DESE: Massachusetts Adjustment Counselor Licensure Knowledge of child development and best practices to support social and emotional learning Ability to work in a professional learning community model and in partnership with caregivers IEP progress monitoring and goal development for social-emotional disability-related needs Leadership skills Organizational skills Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to form positive relationships and convey a sense of caring and respect for others Job Requirements Must hold a valid DESE: Massachusetts Adjustment Counselor Licensure At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Master degree preferred.
