Overview
Cardiovascular Technologist (OR CVOR Tech) – Herrin, Illinois. Start date: 08/17/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,204-$2,249 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 4x10 rotating. Work setting: Hospital travel assignment.

Responsibilities
- Assist in transportation and positioning of patients.
- Assist in assembling and dismantling of tables and instruments before and after procedures.
- Prepare patient and room for planned surgical procedures; open sterile supplies and set up for procedures.
- Complete skin preparation and draping; assist Surgeon with gowning and gloving; pass instruments and suture; maintain correct count of instruments, sutures, and sponges.
- Apply dressings and bandages as needed; assist in identifying, collecting, and caring for specimens.
- Decontaminate instruments (point of use cleaning), supplies and equipment according to established policies and procedures; handle and store instruments, equipment and supplies appropriately.
- Aid in the efficient turnover of the operating room for next cases.

Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses and Certification:
- Non-Certified: Graduate of OR technician program accredited through ARC/STSA or on-the-job training; military experience as technician or LPN; dental assistant; ophthalmology technician; medical assistant. All on-the-job training or military must show evidence of training.
- Certified: Successfully pass the Certified Surgical Technologist exam through NBSTSA or NCCT.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
- Experience: Technical experience of 6 months or specialized training for non-certified or on-the-job/military training.
- Additional: Ability to work in an OR environment and on a 4x10 rotating schedule.
