Adjunct Professor of Success in College and Life An adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma City Community College has the primary responsibility of instruction. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the integrity of curricula, encouraging student success, and promoting the mission of the division to which the adjunct faculty member belongs as well as the College as a whole. Position Information Posting Number: Adjunct_0401948 Classification Title: Adjunct Professor Working Title: Adjunct Professor of Success in College and Life Datatel Position ID: AEHD6ADJSUCL1A Annual Hours: As needed or assigned Placement Range: $740 per Credit Hour Position Type: Adjunct Faculty Reports To: Chair of Humanities and Philosophy Job Open Date: 07/02/2025 Job Close Date: Open Until Filled Job Duties Provide quality instruction, including clear course objectives, prepared and relevant class activities, effective presentation of learning materials, fair grading practices, timely responses to students, and a positive classroom atmosphere. Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department. Respond within 24 hours (Mon‑Fri) and 48 hours on weekends to information requests. Maintain accurate attendance and grade book records. Attend department, division, and College meetings as required. Acquire new knowledge and skills appropriate for the academic discipline. Complete mutually agreed special assignments. Support the College’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities. Abide by Board of Regents and College policies and procedures. Contribute to a safe educational environment and adhere to health and safety procedures. Complete quarterly health and safety training. Participate in emergency drills and assist others during emergencies. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Supportive teaching philosophy. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population. Ability to use electronic databases for scholarly research. Ability to access and autonomously implement technology relevant to the course, including Zoom and Moodle. Qualifications Minimum of a Master’s degree. In‑person teaching experience in secondary education or higher education. Online instructor training. LMS instructor training. Physical Demands / Working Conditions General: Sedentary work with occasional exertion up to 10 pounds. Must move about the classroom frequently, communicate with colleagues and students, operate computer and equipment with repetitive hand motions, and perform other tasks as required. Work Hours Day, evening, or weekend hours as required, with courses taught concurrently at area high school campuses, both on campus and online.
