Riggs Cat is seeking a Senior Strategy Manager for our Power Division to lead the strategic direction of our Power & Energy Division, with a focused emphasis on large-scale data center project management. This role owns the full lifecycle of complex power generation projects — from initial strategy and utility coordination through execution, commissioning, and long-term parts and service support. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the power and energy sector, strong utility and hyperscaler relationships, and a proven track record structuring multi-year parts and service agreements.

What you'll do: 

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the Power & Energy Division, aligning growth initiatives with dealership and Caterpillar corporate objectives
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the data center, mission-critical, and large-scale power generation markets
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with data center developers, hyperscalers, EPCs, and utility partners

Data Center Project Management

• Serve as the primary project lead for large-scale data center power projects, managing scope from initial planning through commissioning and long-term support
• Coordinate directly with utility companies on interconnection, capacity planning, and power delivery timelines
• Oversee cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, service, logistics) to ensure on-time, on-budget project execution
• Manage risk, budget, and schedule across the full project lifecycle, providing regular status reporting to executive leadership and customers

Parts & Service Agreements

• Structure, negotiate, and manage extended parts and service agreements (5–20 year terms) for standby, prime, and continuous power applications
• Develop lifecycle support strategies that maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and total cost of ownership for customers
• Partner with the service department to ensure agreement terms translate into consistent field execution and customer satisfaction

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Mentor and develop strategy and project management staff within the division
• Act as a key liaison between the dealership, Caterpillar corporate, utility partners, and data center customers

Requirements:

What you'll need:

• 20+ years of experience in the power and energy sector, with direct experience in large-scale power generation and/or data center infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving utility coordination and interconnection processes
• Deep knowledge of parts and service agreement structuring, including extended agreements (5–20 years)
• Strong understanding of Caterpillar power systems, generator sets, and related power infrastructure (or comparable OEM experience)
• Proven track record building and maintaining relationships with hyperscalers, data center developers, and utility companies
• Excellent negotiation, financial acumen, and executive communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
• Ability to travel as needed to project sites and customer locations

Preferred Experience

• Prior work with Caterpillar dealership networks or Caterpillar-authorized power systems
• Experience with mission-critical/N+1, 2N redundancy design standards
• Familiarity with utility rate structures, demand response programs, and grid interconnection studies
