Quality Supervisor

Quality Assurance ManagerResponsible for leading and representing Quality on the plant floor and provide direction to maintain the Quality Assurance systems in place. Aids in managing facility internal audits, compliance to GFSI-customer-regulatory requirements, coaching-teaching-mentoring QA staff, and supporting continuous improvement activities in the plant.Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:Lead GFSI initiatives and serve as back up the QA Manager for all things Food Safety & QualityEnsure preparation and compliance of all Quality Systems material and information often utilized in auditsParticipate and at times lead the audits with companies, agencies and auditors for the site teamPerform & maintain risk assessments for new materials coming into the facilityExecute and lead RCA-CAPAs in accordance with corporate and site policiesInvestigate consumer complaints and monitor corrective action effectivenessMaintain and monitor the Quality Notification (QN) or similar supplier incident system to close outGenerate-Review-Close Incident Reports as related to FSQACoach-Teach-Mentor QA Staff to help build contingency plan bench strengthMay be required to maintain staffing schedules and provide feedback for QA Staff performance reviewsAid in management of commercialization projects from a quality perspective to assure specifications are metAdvise commercialization and production teams on process specifications, process capabilities, and customer requirements to include recipe and sensoryBe able to perform Mock Recall / Trace exercises as requiredOversee Document & Record Control programs as they pertain to FSQASupport QA Manager and commercialization teams in integrating customer and compliance requirements into internal specificationsActively participate in the Maker's Pride Production System activities (Drumbeat, Weekly KPI, Tiered Auditing, etc.)Participate in sensory and/or product evaluation tests as required by siteMay serve as primary Quality liaison on test, proof of concept, and initial production runsMay serve as primary resource to track action items developed via test runs through closureAid in monitoring Sanitation activities including, but not limited to verification of MSS, PEM and non-PEM swabbing, and pre-Operational inspectionCoordinate QA and Production training related to FSQA requirements and initiativesOff-shift training, performance verification, and plant-based meeting participationPerform other duties as assignedRequired Competencies & Knowledge: Knowledge of:PCQI or HACCP trained, certification is a plusKnowledge and experience with SAP preferredGFSI certification a plusBasic RCA and CAPA toolsSkilled in:Internal AuditingInfluencing Quality Culture behaviorsProcedure/Standard Work generationAbility to:Communicate effectively both verbally and in writingRecognize food safety & quality gaps and provide a plan to addressManage multiple projects at a timeInvestigate complaints and incidents with minimal oversightInfluence Quality Culture behaviorsWork collaboratively with all departmentsMust be accurate and detail-orientedAbility to work with minimal supervision and at times independentlyProficiency in:MS Office Suite, SAP a PlusHigh school level mathWork Environment:Frequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, heat, cold, moving machinery, forklifts, and slippery floorsAbility to work in hot or cold temperatures dependent upon siteCommunicate in English both written and verbalHandle daily employee issuesPhysical Requirements:Reaching with hands and arms throughout shiftAbility to use hands and fingersAbility to see, hear and talkEmployee frequently required to walkOccasionally required to climb and/or balanceAbility to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Further education is preferred.Experience with SQF or BRC and certification a plus.2 or more years of Quality supervision experience is required.Three or more years of related work experience in a beverage or food manufacturing environment (i.e., baked bar, granola manufacture, bread, cold form bar, cookies, crackers, sandwich assembly, kit assembly, etc.).Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is neededSafety & Environmental:Employee shall follow factory safety & environmental objectives and targets; follow the plant safety rules, report incidents and near misses immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and take personal ownership of the Safety in their area -- to include the safety of visitors and contractors. The employee will also act to reduce negative environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water and will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)Relocation is not available for this opportunity.
