Culinary Position at Trinity WoodsHours: 9:30am to 6:30pm Friday through TuesdayJob Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to accurately and efficiently prepare high-quality culinary dishes. Maintains attitudes and behaviors that demonstrate and uphold the Mission Statement of Trinity Woods (TW), supports the TW core values and shows an understanding of TW's person-centered philosophy.Job Requirements:High school diploma or GED required.Minimum of six to twelve months industry experience as a Line Cook in a restaurant setting.Ability to read and interpret simple instructions and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.Ability to keep records in order to estimate food requirements, accurately plan production requirements, and track production.General understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.Food handler's certification required.Responsibilities:Follows menus and recipes in order to produce high-quality culinary dishes.Responsible for preparing entrees, soups, side dishes, and baked goods in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations.Observe and taste prepared dishes in order to determine dishes are cooked sufficiently.Arrange, garnish, and plate food for waiters or waitresses to serve.Attends production meetings that focus on preparation instructions, how to operate kitchen equipment, and the proper ways to clean and prepare all food items on the day's menu.Maintains a clean and sanitized work environment.Monitors daily buffet foods in order to ensure temperature and quality presentation.Assists the kitchen staff in stocking and storing foods on delivery day.Maintains proper storage of leftover foods including proper labeling and dating of all foods.Adheres to all Health Department standards.Other duties as assigned.Performance and Professionalism:Maintains professional presence when representing Trinity Woods; exhibits a degree of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance.Maintains confidentiality and privacy at all times according to policies and procedures; uses discretion when discussing confidential matters.Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior with members, families, co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and other department staff.Maintains positive working relationships with management and co-workers; willingly follows directions and requests as appropriate.Exhibits professional standards through appearance and demeanor.Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of work assignments and performs in a manner to meet quality and timeliness objectives.Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures; seeks clarification or interpretation from appropriate supervisor when needed.Uses tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in all relations with others.Safety and Security:Complies with applicable safety policies and procedures as prescribed by the organization, as well as government regulations.Reports any potential safety hazard(s) immediately to their supervisor or other appropriate personnel.Reports any injury of a member, visitor, or employee immediately to the supervisor or other appropriate personnel.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
