Coverage Model

• 40 Physician Coverage Hours Daily
• 20 APP Coverage Hours Daily

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition of emergency department patients
• Management of acute medical, surgical, and traumatic presentations
• Emergency procedures within physician scope of practice
• Collaboration with APPs, nursing teams, hospitalists, and consulting specialists
• Participation in floor code response activities
• Documentation and order management within Cerner EMR

Candidate Requirements

Accepted Training Pathways

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine
  • Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
  • Internal Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• ATLS
• PALS

Additional Requirements

• Active Washington, DC License or ability to obtain
• Active DEA
