Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred Description: The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby unit cares for women of childbearing age and newborns. The RN will recognize unit workflow, processes, policies, and procedures within the postpartum unit. The RN is responsible for assessing and identifying risk factors related to sepsis, venous thromboembolism (VTE), suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury. The RN will provide discharge education and assessment, and manage abnormal assessments and pain. The RN must effectively manage time and prioritize patient care needs based on acuity and individual patient requirements. Use of AIDET and BSSR is expected. The RN may perform procedures such as circumcisions. Required uniform consists of black scrub pants and a Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket. Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be attached for review. Candidates should consider potential benefits such as new equipment or technology, staff tenure, and scheduling options.
