Candidates must reside in or be within a commutable distance of El Segundo, CA.The Senior Software Engineer will:Design, engineer, analyze, and develop software prototypes and/or applications as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Engage with stakeholders to better define the problem space and vision to determine capabilities and priorities.Participate in the complete software development lifecycle: user story creation, design, development, automated testing, and operational support.Design and develop new features to meet evolving end-user requirements.Work with complex algorithms to deliver optimized solutions for the end user.Determine software maintainability and overall adherence to user requirements on department standards.Drive continuous improvement through process and tooling recommendations.Mentor team members by sharing innovative ideas and industry best practices.Conditions of Employment:Must be a US Citizen.Must be able to pass a Federal background checkMust be determined suitable for federal employmentQualificationsRequired:Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required for this position3-6 years of software development, including architecture, object-oriented design, coding, and testing, with strong understanding of the software development life cycle.Strong experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, or Go.Experience with Javascript frameworks such as Angular or React.Experience with web applications with microservices architecture.Familiarity with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and others.Familiarity with GitLab or other Tools for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration.Excellent problem-solving skills.Strong passion for conducting research, tackling complex problems, and continuously learning and adopting new technologies.Organization capability with ability to handle competing prioritiesStrong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.Preferred:Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence.Experience in implementing Agile Software Development methodologies for efficient and iterative project management.Experience with Docker, AWS and / or Azure, and Kubernetes for containerization, cloud services, and orchestration.Education:Required: BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; other degrees will be considered with relevant work experienceYears of experience in a similar role:3-6 years of software development, including architecture, object-oriented design, coding, and testing, with strong understanding of the software development life cycle.Physical DemandsStanding - 5 % per daySitting - 85 % per dayWalking - 5 % per dayStooping - 5 % per dayLifting - If traveling, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted (luggage, laptop etc.)Up to 10 lbs. unassisted, several times a day (laptop, office equipment, office supplies, etc.)Computer Work - 80 % per dayTelephone Work - 10 % per dayReading - 80 % per daySBGTS, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity EmployerIf you need an accommodation seeking employment with SBGTS, Inc., please email View email address on click.appcast.io or call View phone number on click.appcast.io.
