POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure the daily duties of the Security Officers are conducted. Assist with the training of existing and newly hired security personnel, related to the systems and their duties as set forth by the Security Department Standard Operating procedures and the policies of Affinia Healthcare.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School diploma required. Associates degree or higher preferred.

Experience: Requires five (5) years of physical security experience. Requires three (3) years' experience working in a medical/health center. Requires three (3) years' experience operating safety and security related systems, such as access control, burglar alarms, closed circuit camera systems, computer aided dispatch, fire alarms, scheduling software and two-way radio operation. Three (3) years supervisory experience preferred. A combination of the above requirements may be considered, when reviewing applicant's overall qualifications for the position.

1. Must possess initiative, flexibility, and good organizational skills.
2. Must possess the ability to make informed decisions, in a timely manner.
3. Must possess a thorough understanding of the principles of physical and personal security, fire prevention, key control, personal and job safety, and emergency first aid.
4. Must possess excellent computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and call center phone systems and related tools.
5. Must possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
6. Must possess good telephone and customer service skills.

 

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri

License(s)/Certification(s):

Required:

1. Must possess current St. Louis Metropolitan Security License.
2. Must possess St. Louis County Police Department Pepper Spray (OC) certification.
3. Must possess St. Louis County Police Department Handcuffing certification.
4. Must possess AED and CPR certification.

Preferred:  St. Louis County Police Department Specialized Security Force Training certification.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

1. Protects and addresses co-workers, clients, and visitors with dignity, confidentiality, and respect.
2. Responsible for monitoring the closed-circuit camera, fire/life/safety and two-way radio systems and ensuring they are operational.
3. Responsible for assisting with the training of security staff
4. Reviews reports, investigates causation, and provides recommendations.
5. Receives, reviews and forwards complaints, for action, to the security manager.
6. Ensures that staff is on assigned posts and prepared for duty.
7. Responds with sensitivity and tact to the needs of staff, clients, and visitors.
8. Monitors staff to assure identification badges are worn.
9. Completely secures location by checking doors, lights, and grounds area on a daily basis.
10. Provides assistance as needed to clients, employees, and visitors.
11. Assists police with investigations, as appropriate.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions:

1. Assists, as necessary, the Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
