This position will provide interns with hands-on learning opportunities across the transportation industry. Interns will support a variety of tasks within multiple departments, including areas such as Transportation Development, Toll Operations, Highway Operations, Administration, Finance, and Information Technology. They will assist with research, data analysis, and project support activities while collaborating with executive leadership, team leaders, project managers, fellow interns, and external partners. Interns will actively participate in team projects, contribute to agency goals, and help support initiatives that drive innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

Through cooperation, coordination and collaboration among the OneFDOT team, you will be contributing to a strong and empowering culture of TRREC: Trust, Relationships, Respect, Empowerment, and Communication. FDOT is seeking interns for multiple locations across the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise. Internship opportunities may be available at the following work locations: Turnpike Headquarters; Suncoast Operations Building; Tolls Data Center; Pompano Operations Center.

Your specific responsibilities will include gaining knowledge, skills and experience in the Transportation Industry. Assist in various tasks across different departments. Engage in research and provide insights to support initiatives. Interact with executive leadership, team leads, project managers, fellow interns, and external partners. Actively participate in team projects, contribute to agency goals, and assist in driving change within the organization.

The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of basic understanding and/or interest of transportation systems. Departmental functions such as engineering, planning, Human Resources, IT, finance, business administration, or project management. Skills in written and verbal communication. Ability to conduct research, analyze data, summarize findings to support decision-making, use standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, learn and apply new concepts, tools, and procedures quickly and effectively, work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team, engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Minimum qualifications: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification supporting citizenship or authority to work for the duration of program participation. Participants are required to comply with all statutes and rules and the Department's policies, procedures, regulations, and Code of Ethics.
