Details 30-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit on the 3rd floor of the main hospital building Patient ratio of 5-6:1 Unit staffed with unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCTs day and night, nursing supervisor, and hospitalists Uses Welch Allyn vitals monitors, Novameter glucose monitors, and Philips telemetry and MP2 monitors Documents in Meditech (HCA version) Medications managed via WOW carts with med drawers and Pyxis ES dispensing system Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Scheduling requires working every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) Floating required to other Med/Surg areas including general MS, Ortho, PCU, and MS surgical with oncology unless skill mix is needed Requirements Active RN license (TN or compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Cardiac knowledge preferred Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips required Experience with chest tube management, wound vac management, and EKGs required US SSN and date of birth required for consideration One professional reference required Additional Information Perform bedside and hourly rounding with 5 P's checked, reporting patient needs to PCTs at shift start and throughout shift Document telemetry application and acknowledge rhythm strips each shift, placing documentation in chart No Pass Zone policy enforced for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms Dress code: RN in navy scrubs, CNA/PCT in ceil blue scrub sets with optional jacket; solid-colored undershirts allowed (no graphics); no artificial or gel nails/polish permitted Charge nurses on unit have 12 to 39 years of seniority on dayshift and 15+ years on nightshift Facility promotes shared governance across units No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
