Welder (Night Shift)

SA Recycling is looking for a capable Welder (Night Shift) who will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a metal recycling shredder and other metal recycling equipment as needed. The welder will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials, using the appropriate equipment. The welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment; follow all established safety precautions; have the ability to work at heights and with odd angles; have a steady hand and a great attention to detail. Knowledge of different metals and their properties is also highly desired. Welds various steel components with ARC and MIG welding equipment. Cut, trim, fit and fabricate metal components to fit specific dimensions. Perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts. Maintains accurate records of all work performed. Work from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards. QUALIFICATIONS OF A WELDER High school diploma or GED; graduation from a trade school preferred. 3+ years’ experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials. Recycling industry experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of welding fabrication tools and techniques. Knowledge of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards. Ability to safely work at varying heights, in tight quarters, and varying positions. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
