Property Field Claims Adjuster (Salina, KS)

Job Summary You will work in the field and report to the Property Claim Manager, handling homeowner property field claims. The role may be based in Salina, Hayes, Junction City, or McPherson, KS, and requires a local presence in this area. A company fleet vehicle is provided. 80% of your time will be spent outdoors interacting directly with customers, with occasional travel to office locations for meetings, training, and events. Compensation $57,000.00 - $94,000.00 (salary, subject to job level and geographic location). Responsibilities Investigate the origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, and public personnel. Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed; handle claims on a good‑faith basis. Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements. Conduct on‑site inspections when needed, evaluate damages, and negotiate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters. Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files as required. Interpret and determine policies, leases, by‑laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages; apply them to all parties for assigned losses. Proactively provide claim process and status updates to all parties; answer questions or redirect to other areas. Complete additional assignments or participate in projects as required. Required Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience providing customer‑driven solutions, support, or service. Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi‑line claims across operating territories, or equivalent. Experience handling moderately complex claims, or comparable experience. Solid knowledge of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages. Solid knowledge of each phase of the claim‑handling process. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity and experience with Xactimate. Licenses Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Obtain state‑specific property casualty claims licensing, as required. Travel Requirements Up to 50% of time may involve travel. Catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable. Physical Requirements Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.; may work in hazardous customer sites. Move themselves in various positions within tight or confined spaces. Adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions Exposure to low and high temperatures. Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. Noisy environments. Hazardous conditions. Poor ventilation. Small or enclosed spaces.
