Legal Billing Specialist

A well-established law firm in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist to join its accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative professional environment while supporting attorneys and clients through all aspects of the billing process.

The ideal candidate will have prior law firm billing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of billing activity in a deadline-driven environment. Candidates should be comfortable partnering with attorneys and staff to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, revise, and finalize client invoices
  • Process monthly billing and ensure timely distribution to clients
  • Generate and analyze prebills for attorney review
  • Review billing entries for accuracy and compliance with client guidelines
  • Submit electronic invoices through client e-billing platforms
  • Research and resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies
  • Monitor aged accounts and assist with collections follow-up as needed
  • Maintain billing records and supporting documentation
  • Work closely with attorneys and administrative staff regarding billing matters
  • Assist with special projects and reporting as requested
Qualifications
  • Prior legal billing experience required
  • Experience working in a law firm environment preferred
  • Familiarity with e-billing systems and billing guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
