Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/Angular)

Salary: $124,800 - 145,600 per year Requirements:

• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security (OAuth2 and LDAP), Hibernate, Python, and Node.js, with strong object-oriented design, REST API design, and microservices experience.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, SES, SQS, SNS, RDS, ECS, and API Gateway, as well as CloudWatch or CloudTrail, IAM, VPC networking, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, Maven or Gradle, and JUnit 5.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, unit testing, and software security best practices.
• A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and at least seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Background in system design, cloud technologies, relational and NoSQL data stores, performance tuning and optimization, DevOps and CI/CD, test automation, unit testing, and software security.
• Preferred: Frontend experience with React or Angular, exposure to GitLab CI/CD, and experience using AI development tools such as Amazon Kiro or similar, with strong validation practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain applications that ingest data from multiple sources and surface insights through correlation and analysis, with attention to code quality and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, and guide the effective, responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical strategy, and define technical solutions or operational processes with measurable impact.
• Identify and address technical risks and cross-team dependencies early to support timely, high-quality delivery.
• Support production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and simplify code and infrastructure to reduce maintenance and migration costs.
• Apply computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, problem-solving, complexity analysis, and data structures.
• Review AI-generated output for correctness, security, and quality.
• Build productive relationships with senior internal and external partners, align on priorities, and collaborate in support of investor protection and market integrity.

The position follows a hybrid schedule of three days onsite and two days remote in Rockville, Maryland. We can facilitate W-2 and corp-to-corp consultants; our W-2 consultants are offered medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company matching, and life insurance.
