RN Resident | Registered Nurse - Emergency & Acute Care

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, offering a unique opportunity to grow and develop as a Registered Nurse through a structured residency program. This role provides general nursing care in emergency and acute care settings, guided by experienced preceptors and supported by a comprehensive curriculum designed to enhance critical competencies such as communication, time management, and patient safety.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Nursing Services Manager, the RN Resident delivers patient-centered care using sound nursing principles and independent judgment. The position involves medication administration, patient assessment, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure continuity and excellence of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and under preceptor guidance.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Document patient care, including vital signs, medications, and care plans within 24 hours of admission.
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and in-service trainings to foster teamwork.
  • Engage in special projects and continuous learning activities.
Education and Experience
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing school.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC certifications required within 12 months of hire.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures and age-specific patient care principles.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to patient privacy and safety following HIPAA standards.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs occasionally, with frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities required.

Work Environment

This full-time position involves 8-hour shifts in a 40-hour workweek, located in a regional healthcare setting known for its accessibility and community focus.
