Process Engineer

The Position: Process Engineers will be directly responsible for the development, implementation, and maintaining manufacturing processes and process documentation on the shop floor. Process Engineers will also collaborate with Corporate Manufacturing Engineering to develop and execute new manufacturing processes for new product designs and new equipment.ResponsibilitiesWHAT YOU’LL DODirectly work with operators on the shop floor to solve tactical day-to-day improvement projectsAssist Corporate Manufacturing Engineering and Senior Process Engineers with larger projects as requiredAuthor and maintain work instructions for the shop floorMaintain MES system data in plants where applicable (work instructions, material consumption etc.)Maintain PFMEAs under supervision of Senior Process Engineer and assist Quality in maintenance of Control PlanParticipate in Root Cause – Corrective Action exercises for defects that occurred in their assigned areaServe as a technical liaison between Production Engineering and OperationsAssist in manufacturability studies with Production Engineering and Corporate “Core” EngineeringPurchase of hand tools and small equipment in support of improvement projectsDesign of shop aids and small tooling in support of improvement projectsOwn the process and collaborate with Corporate Manufacturing Engineering on the execution of manufacturing pilots and manufacturing trials to support new product and new process designsTrain operators on any new processes and process changesCollaborate with Operations Supervisors to guide training, both new employees and recurring training in assigned areaOther duties as assigned.QualificationsCompetencies:Transformation and Change Management: The ability to lead and execute initiatives that drive significant organizational change, including cultural, process, and structural transformations. Builds trust, demonstrates credibility, and aligns initiatives with stakeholder priorities.Your skills and abilities (required qualifications)Education: Industrial/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical Engineering degreeExperience: 3-5 years preferredSkills:Basic familiarization with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsKnowledge of PFMEA and Control PlansAbility to read and interpret 2D blueprints and 3D modelsFamiliarization or basic experience with drafting work instructionsBasic experience with 2D drafting and 3D modelling (AutoCAD, DraftSight, Solidworks, CATIA, etc…)Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to effectively communicate with operatorsFamiliarization with line balancing, work measurement, and cost justification techniquesAnalytical problem solving skillsFamiliarization with Lean and Six Sigma principlesTravel: 10% PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Office and plant environment.Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ABOUT GREAT DANEWith a history dating back to 1900, Great Dane has established itself as a transportation solutions leader of today – delivering innovative products and exceptional services that help our customers and employees succeed.
