Family Office Accountant

Our client, a well-established, multi-generational family office, is seeking an Accountant to join its accounting team in Palm Beach. This is a fully onsite position, supporting a sophisticated portfolio of 300+ entities, including personal, trust, investment, and real estate-related entities. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of accounting and wants exposure to private equity investments, real estate, family office operations, and high-net-worth financial activity. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, discreet, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment.

• Salary up to $100,000
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting activity across multiple family, trust, investment, and operating entities.
• Prepare transaction entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate domestic and international payment activity, including preparing wires and verifying payment instructions.
• Support private equity capital calls and distributions by calculating required contributions, identifying appropriate funding sources, and preparing transactions for CFO approval.
• Monitor and reconcile private investment and investment account activity.
• Track real estate-related expenditures, capital projects, and improvements.
• Review and maintain accurate coding and classification of credit card and other operating expenses.
• Coordinate payments associated with real estate, investments, household expenses, charitable contributions, and gifts.
• Prepare and provide financial information and supporting schedules to the tax team for annual tax compliance.
• Provide accounting support related to household payroll activities as needed.
• Maintain well-organized financial records and documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
• Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and other accounting initiatives as they arise.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally within a family office or UHNW environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
• Experience with payment processing and wire transfers, including validating wire instructions.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple entities and competing priorities.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with a high degree of discretion.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented fully in-office environment.
Preferred Background:
• Previous experience within a family office, private equity, real estate, or investment environment.
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or Quicken.
• Exposure to household payroll, trusts, or high-net-worth individual accounting is a plus.
