Maintenance Worker/Engineer

Overview A small hospital located in the Sahara desert requires a maintenance worker or engineer to manage repairs of hospital equipment, electrical/plumbing systems, and vehicles. The role also offers time to learn the local Arabic dialect, immerse in culture, and interact with local communities. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment, electrical, and plumbing systems. Maintain and repair vehicles used by the hospital. Adapt to a remote environment and exercise flexibility and creativity in troubleshooting. Participate in language and cultural learning activities. Qualifications Experience in maintenance work. Ability to be flexible and creative in a remote environment. Resilience and good health to live in a hot, dry desert climate. Prior cross-cultural experience, preferably among Muslim communities.
