Splunk Engineer Location: Lorton, VA Clearance: Top Secret w/eligibility for SCI Duration: 7 yrs Compensation: DOE As a Splunk Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Splunk solutions to support our government clients' cybersecurity initiatives. Responsibilities include: Design, deploy, and maintain Splunk infrastructure and applications, ensuring high availability and performance. Develop and implement Splunk best practices and security standards to optimize data collection, indexing, and analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement custom Splunk applications and dashboards to meet specific client requirements. Monitor and troubleshoot Splunk systems, identifying and resolving performance issues, data quality problems, and system outages. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their growth and ensuring the successful delivery of Splunk solutions. Stay abreast of the latest Splunk features, technologies, and industry trends, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Requirements: Hands-on experience working as a Splunk Engineer, including architecture design, implementation, and maintenance. Strong understanding of Splunk architecture, deployment, and administration, including Splunk Enterprise, and Splunk Universal Forwarder. Proficiency in developing Splunk searches, reports, dashboards, and alerts to monitor and analyze machine-generated data. Experience in integrating Splunk with various data sources, such as log files, syslog, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate tasks and develop custom Splunk applications. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex Splunk-related issues.
