Supervisor-Speech Language Pathologist - Rehab Services - Kings Hwy

Overview This job supervises the day‑to‑day management of a department and provides clinical and technical support to assigned staff. Responsibilities include coordinating workflow, staffing patterns, program development, inventory control, and distribution in assigned areas. The role follows, monitors, and reports on statistical guidelines and metrics established by federal regulations, credentialing bodies, payer sources, and leadership. It plans, organizes, and conducts discipline‑specific treatment programs based upon state practice act guidelines, and participates in staff education, continuing education, clinical education, research, and the writing of professional papers. Key Qualifications Education: Master’s degree required; Ph.D. in speech‑language pathology or related field preferred. Experience: At least 5 years of clinical experience in speech‑language pathology. Certifications: Current speech pathologist license in the state of practice (or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, and Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications; effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally; strong interpersonal and leadership skills; advanced clinical knowledge in a specialty area. Job Duties Serves as a preceptor or mentor for new staff, validating the skills required for proper job performance as outlined in the orientation, assessment, and evaluation process. Supervises the day‑to‑day management of the department and maintains productivity standards by monitoring individual staff productivity levels and discussing any concerns with leadership. Provides training, coaching, and feedback to ensure performance standards are maintained and to provide staff with opportunities for professional growth. Performs age‑and‑diagnosis‑appropriate evaluations and treatments specific to the licensed discipline, and maintains patient records in accordance with documentation standards, policies, and procedures. Assists in evaluating the department’s learning needs to adapt to changing research, practice trends, and patient populations. Adapts communication style to the specific patient population, maintaining respect for privacy and appropriate explanation of services or procedures. Performs other related duties as required.
