Job Description
Bring your expertise to a dynamic environment supporting students in grades 6–12 with significant behavioral and social/emotional needs. This is a contract opportunity for a dedicated professional to work on-site, providing essential mental health services at Meridian Academy, an alternative program designed to help students succeed where traditional placements have not met their needs. You’ll work closely with a team of passionate educators, contributing directly to student growth and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider (SSP) License, endorsed as a School Psychologist or School Social Worker
- Prior experience with middle and high school populations, particularly those with severe behavioral needs (facility placements, day treatment, or similar)
- Expertise in delivering support to students with IEPs, including conducting evaluations, participating in meetings, and developing IEP documents
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to begin as soon as all district-required background and fingerprinting processes are completed
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct mental health services to a caseload of approximately 23 to 30 students with complex needs
- Collaborate in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals as they relate to social-emotional and behavioral development
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and participate in IEP meetings
- Partner with teachers and program staff to build positive educational and behavioral outcomes
- Engage families to ensure coordinated supports across home and school
This position runs ASAP through May 27, 2027, at 37.5 hours per week, exclusively serving Meridian Academy. Contribute your specialized skills where they’re needed most, enjoying the unique rewards of making an impact on students’ academic journeys.
If you’re ready to support students who need your expertise, apply now and be part of their transformation!
Compensation for this position ranges from $40.00 to $60.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
